HOW ACCURATE IS HEARZA®?

_

hearZA® – a digits-in-noise hearing test – was successfully developed and validated as a self-test on a smartphone using any earphone or headphone. See published validation research papers (Potgieter et al. 2016; Potgieter et al. 2018)

HOW DOES HEARZA® WORK?

_

The screening test analyses a person’s ability to perceive speech in noise. This is done by playing a series of digit triplets over white background noise. Based on the persons response, the app automatically generates a hearing score which indicates whether there may be a possible hearing problem. If the person fails, the app then refers the user to the closest audiologist (registered on our system), using geolocation.

AT WHAT AGE SHOULD I BEGIN REGULAR HEARING CHECK-UPS?

_

Testing should be performed as soon as possible. It is never to early for a hearing test. Take not however that hearZA is only accurate for persons 16 years of age and older at this stage.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I TEST MY HEARING?

_

Annual check-ups are recommended. Track your profile on the hearZA App.

The hearX Group offers smartphone hearing solutions that can detect more severe hearing loss, for more information about these products, email info@hearxgroup.com.

SHOULD I SEE AN AUDIOLOGIST?

_

If you experience any difficulty hearing or are having increased stress and strain in your daily function. We recommend using our hearZA app to find your nearest hearing healthcare provider who will be able to assist you in determining the cause of the hearing problem and offer the possible interventions.
